More about my Potential Patients
I will see people in need of professional mental health services especially psychiatric medication management. My psychiatric services could help different groups of people including but not limited to:
1. Individuals with or without a history of mental health issues who struggle to deal with everyday life stressors as a result of depression, anxiety, unstable mood, lack of control over their basic emotions such as anger, or disruptive pattern of their thinking and behaviors.
2. People who have endured one or several traumatic life events (including victims of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse) and are unable to cope with it
3. Individual who suffers from physical health issues that have affected their emotions, thinking, or behaviors in a negative way. People who suffer from vague physical symptoms with negative medical workup. People with physical symptoms including pain that could not be explained by organic diagnoses or people who suspect or have been told by their medical doctors that psychological issues or stress either caused or contributed to their physical presentations.
4. People who have an established psychiatric diagnosis such as (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or OCD) and need psychiatric medication management, or they would like to review their diagnosis and have a 2nd opinion about it and about their treatment options
5. People who have been referred by another mental health specialist such as a therapist (most of the time for medication management)
6. People who are currently in therapy only feel that despite their efforts, their therapy has failed to help them or their treatment progress is very slow. These people may consider a medication trial instead or along with their therapy
7. People who have been referred by another physician such as their primary care physicians, their pediatricians, or other medical specialists who need a psychiatric consultation for their patients
8. Children and adolescents who come along with their parents, legal guardians, or caregivers for a variety of reasons such as behavioral issues, ADHD, educational difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders, or tic disorders. Children and adolescents could also be referred by a school system, teachers, and school counselors.
9. People who feel that their behavioral pattern or their personal characteristics make them feel emotional pain or make them unsuccessful in their personal life, work, or education
10. Individuals who fail to establish a working relationship with their friends, family members, and loved ones. Also, People who have significant interpersonal issues with their spouse, parents, children, other family members, friends, romantic partners, or significant others as a result of mental health issues either diagnosed or undiagnosed, treated or untreated
11. People who have issues in sexual interests/ desire, sexual performance, or sexual gratification as a result of mental health issues.
12. People who have problems accepting their biological gender, their sexual role, or their sexual orientation
13. Individuals especially older adults with neurocognitive disorders such as dementia with or without other psychiatric co-morbidities (such as depression and anxiety among others)
14. Sleep-wake disorders as a presentation or part of other psychiatric illnesses such as insomnia, hypersomnia, and nightmares
15. Substance (alcohol, drugs, or medications) induced mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders
